Calling out all Deckers!

And I do mean Deckers—not those Schettlers, Rauenzahns, Endys, Yakes, or even Planks—but true Deckers. You know who you are.

So, in reflecting upon the results of recent subbuteo tournaments past, I was alarmed to discover that no Decker has won a Club-sanctioned tournament, and only one Decker has appeared in a final game (twice for Der Tyrant.) And yet, all Rauenzahns have seen a final, and two have won; and two of three participating Schettlers have reached a final, and won—and a Schettler has been on the championship team in every tournament since the inception of the 1^st & 4^th Club.

Now, I do not mean to cast aspersions or allegations, or to induce a rivalry that would rend the very fabric of the Club. That sort of thing would be cause for suspension and even possibly a lifetime ban from subbuteo. I am merely calling attention to the fact that the Decker tribe has not performed to its potential on the pitch. And furthermore, I am exhorting them to “bear down” and play their damndest at the upcoming 4^th Tournament lest we kinsmen be beaten and embarrassed once again by our close relations.
